History of the Millersburg Opera House, 7 p.m. Thursday, Millersburg American Legion Hall, West Jackson Street, Millersburg. A look at the history of the iconic Opera House.

Haystack Supper and Benefit Auction, Friday, Mt. Hope Event Center, 8076 State Route 241, Millersburg. Funds benefit Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare’s Amish Care Fund. Carryout begins at 3:30 p.m., supper begins at 4 p.m. and the live auction is at 5:30 p.m. Donations for the supper are welcome.

Main Street Wooster Farmers' Market, 8 a.m.-noon, Saturday, downtown Wooster. Shop from local producer, bakers and crafters with community fresh and locally sourced goods.

Car Show by Wayne Holmes Soap Box Derby, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Village Network, 2000 Noble Drive, Wooster; $10 donation. Registration 8-10 a.m., judging at noon and awards at 1 p.m. Goody bags to the first 50 entries. Food, music, door prizes and 50/50 drawing. Kids ages 7 and up can drive a soap box derby car down the hill from 10 a.m.-noon for free. Proceeds go to support local kids and their Soap Box Derby racing.

Antique Engine Show, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday, 4779 Kidron Road, Kidron. Lehman's west parking lot will be filled with antique tractor engines of all shapes and sizes.

Moreland Garden Club Plant Sale, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Franklin Township Building, 132 W. Moreland Road, Wooster. Annuals, perennials, hanging baskets and planted containers. Proceeds fund ATI scholarships, Wayne County Care Center activities, civic beautification projects and other club activities.

County Line Historical Museum Open House, noon-3 p.m., Saturday, County Line Historical Society Museum, 281 N. Market St., Shreve. Open houses are second Saturday of each month. “Snow White,” Friday, May 19-Sunday, May 21, Ohio Star Theater, 1387 Old State Route 39, Sugarcreek. The “older” Snow White will be performed at 7 p.m. May 19-21. A sensory friendly show will be performed at 2 p.m. May 20. Maker Faire, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, May 20, University of Akron Wayne College. Maker Faire showcases the work of all kinds and ages of makers − anyone who is embracing the do-it-yourself (or do-it-together) spirit and wants to share their accomplishments with an appreciative audience. The aim of Maker Faire is to entertain, inform, connect and grow the community.

Smithville Artisan Day, 1:30-4 p.m., Sunday, May 21, Smithville Community Historical Society. Various artisans will be featured, live music and food. All buildings in the historic village will be open. The Mishler Weaving Mill will feature live demonstrations of rug weaving using the vintage looms dating back to the 1860s. Creston area Memorial Day Service, 7:30 a.m. Monday, May 29, several Canaan Township cemeteries. American Legion Post 497 will present services. At 9:30 a.m., the Legion will be at Burbank Village cemetery and at 11 a.m. at the Creston Village Memorial Day Parade. The parade will begin at the former grade school on South Main Street and proceed to the Maple Mound Cemetery where services will be held.

Kingwood 5K Run and Walk, 9 a.m Saturday, June 10, front of Kingwood Hall mansion in Mansfield. The chip-timed 5k will allow participants to enjoy a beautiful course within Kingwood’s gardens and along the B&O bike trail. The 5k is open to all abilities and ages.
