Pancake Breakfast and Car Show, 7-11 a.m. Saturday, Marshallville firehouse. Proceeds support the East Wayne Firefighters. Breakfast by donation includes pancakes, eggs, potatoes, sausage, coffee and orange juice. Bucket & Beans car show registration will start at 11 a.m. at the Marshallville Historical Society. Wooster Walk to End Alzheimer's, 8:30 a.m., Saturday, Wooster High School, 515 Oldman Road.. 5k Dirty Dog Jog, 9 a.m. Saturday, Wilderness Center, 9877 Alabama Ave. SW, Wilmot. Run is presented by PAWS (Promoting Animal Welfare) for the Wayne County Dog Shelter. The cost is $40 per person.

Kidron Beet Festival, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Sonnenberg Village, Kidron. Food vendors, tours, music, beet judging.

Smithville Harvest Fest and Market, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday, Smithville Community Historical Society. The market, which is new this year, will feature local artisans, handmade goods, bakery items, home decor, gifts and more. There will be food, live music, log cabin tours apple butter making and other fall activities. Admission is free. Arts Council Chocolate Walk, noon-4 p.m. Saturday, Medina Square. Tickets will be available for purchase Sept. 13-Oct. 13 for $30. If there are any tickets left, last minute tickets will be available Oct. 14 and 15 for $40. Tickets can be purchased at www.medinacountyartscouncil.org. The Chocolate Walk raises funds for grants to Medina County arts teachers and arts organizations, scholarships to graduating seniors who have excelled in the arts, and free arts performances and experiences during the annual Arts Week.

"Cross Keys, Carpet Bag and Pen," 1 p.m. Saturday, Shreve Presbyterian Church, 343 N. Market St., Shreve. The County Line Historical Society of Wayne/Holmes will host Kathryn Hardgrove Popio, who will present her new book of Civil War letters titled "Cross Keys, Carpet Bag and Pen."

Swiss Steak Dinner, 4 p.m. Saturday, Beach City American Legion Hall Post 549, 125 Third Ave. NE. Meal includes three bean salad, applesauce, mashed potatoes/ homemade gravy, corn, bread and dessert for the cost of $12. Proceeds support veterans.
