Area man dies in apparent murder-suicide in Georgia

Dec. 7—WEST POINT, Georgia — A Thomasville man was shot and killed in an apparent murder-suicide this week at a residence in West Point, Georgia.

Jesus Mena Lopez, 43, and Kylie Ashlyn Womack, 26, who was from West Point, were found dead inside a home on Avenue B following a welfare check this past Sunday, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Both appeared to have been shot.

Law enforcement officers found a handgun next to Lopez.
