FREE SEEDS – A partnership between Mahoning County Ohio State University Extension and Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County will offer free sample seed starter packets at library branches throughout the county. Among branches participating in the Victory Garden program is Sebring Library, 195 W. Ohio Ave. Officials will be on hand from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. April 12 to distribute packets. Limit one packet per participant, while supplies last. Each packet contains a combination of carrots, cucumbers, lettuce or sunflowers, and will include instructions for how to plant and care for your seeds. Seed packet distribution is in partnership with the Ohio Department of Agriculture and the Victory Garden-Let’s Grow Ohio initiative. FISH FRY – Christopher Columbus Charities plans a Good Friday fish dinner from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the lodge hall at 505 S. Liberty Ave. Meals will be served either carryout or dine-in. Call ahead to order at 330-821-8204.

SRMC BOOK SALE – Find unique gifts or stock up on spring reading at the Salem Regional Medical Center Look Nook Gift Shop’s Book Fair from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday. The Look Nook is located next to the cafeteria on the hospital’s ground floor. Sale will feature a selection of books and seasonal items at discounted prices. SRMC SUPPORT GROUPS – University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center at Salem Regional Medical Center will play host to its Cancer Support Group at 3 p.m. April 12. The free group is open to anyone in the community in cancer treatment and cancer survivors. Meetings are in SRMC’s Oncology Conference Room, on the hospital’s second floor Cancer & Infusion Center. Attendees are asked to check in at the Oncology Department front desk before entering the meeting. Registration is required. For questions and to RSVP, call 330-332-7677. SRMC’s Ostomy Support Group will meet at 4 p.m. April 10 for area residents with ostomies and their caregivers. The group will meet in SRMC’s Private Dining Room, located at the back of the cafeteria on the hospital’s ground floor. Sessions are led by SRMC’s certified wound, ostomy and continence nurse, and there is no cost to participate. Register with nurse Tashia Watkins at 330-332-7607.

SEBRING COUNCIL – Sebring Village Council’s Planning Commission will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday. Among items on the agenda are a replat of 144 W. Georgia Ave. from Patricia Schubert.
