SQUARE DANCING – Niles Friendly Squares will celebrate its 13th anniversary at the Sept. 9 monthly square dance. The event will run 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Niles SCOPE Center, 14 E. AASC TRIPS – Alliance Area Senior Center plans two trips in the fall. Call 330-821-3348 to reserve your spot. From Oct. 10-12 will be a three-day fall tour of New York. Cost per person, double occupancy, is $479. Includes a guided tour of Buffalo, two breakfasts, two dinners, two nights at Hotel Batavia Downs, a train ride, guided tour of Letchworth State Park and transportation. The event will include dinner at Caroline’s at the Glen Iris Inn in the heart of Letchworth State Park; and Arcade & Attica Railroad. From Nov. 14-16, there will be a trip called Christmas in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Cost per person, double occupancy, will be $595. Trip will include “The Miracle of Christmas” at Millennium Theater; and “The First Noel” at American Music Theater. Dinner at the Bird-in Hand Restaurant and Miller’s Smorgasbord are included. Enjoy a stop at the National Christmas Center, where 18,000 square feet of décor awaits. Cost includes show tickets, two breakfasts, two dinners, two nights lodging and transportation.

ALLIANCE DOG EVENT – Alliance Parks and Recreation plans “Bark in the Park” from noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 10 at the Coastal Pet-Burnell Dog Park, 2025 W. State St. in Alliance. Among the activities will be two shows by Performance Show Dogs of Ohio, and K9 demonstrations by Alliance Police Department. The free event also will include the State Street Mutt Strut,” a 15-minute pooch parade from the dog park, around the Kohl’s plaza, and back to the dog park. Also part of the event are the opening of the new PawPrint Park and the Alliance Police Department K9 Memorial; children’s attractions, such as balloon animals, story time, face painting, bubbles and juggling; doggie kissing booth photo opportunities; door prize raffles; and a cash-only basket auction. MUSIC EVENT – Dulci-More: Folk & Traditional Musicians will host The Fiddle Section (The Mom Family) at 7 p.m. Sept. 2 in the meeting room of the Dale Shaffer Research Library of the Salem Historical Society, 239 S. Lundy Ave. in Salem. Parking is available in the municipal lot across Lundy. Admission is $10, with an additional $5 covering all children in a family with a responsible adult. GOLF OUTING – Mount Union Physician Assistant Studies Program Golf Outing is set Sept. 9 at The Quarry Golf Club in Canton. Registration will begin at 8 a.m., and shotgun start is 9 a.m. Cost for the 18-hole scramble event is $150 per person, or $600 per team. Funds raised from the golf outing go to the group’s mission trip to Guatemala, where members will provide care to those in need. Golfers will enjoy donuts and coffee for breakfast, lunch at the turn and a buffet dinner. Contests and games will be part of the events. SEBRING WALK – Sebring Ohio Historical Society plans its annual Quaker Hill Cemetery Walk at 2 p.m. Sept. 10 at the cemetery at 11925 Lippincott Road in East Rochester. Frank and Michal Barrett will host the event.
