FREE TESTS – Carroll County General Health District is offering free at-home test kits while supplies last. Limit two per person. Call 330-627-4866, Ext. 1530, to request. The kits will be delivered in a contactless way. Interested parties should call to request. The kits will be packaged and left in a container outside the district’s upper-level door for clients to pick up at their convenience.

BLOOD DRIVE – American Red Cross and Carroll County General Health District plan a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 24 at Senior Citizens Friendship Center in Carrollton. The event will be in the main area of the center, 100 Kensington Road NE. During the event, a barbecue meal will be served outside under health department tents. Those interested in donating should register at redcrossblood.org, using sponsor code FSC.

SSWCD MEETING – Stark Soil & Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors will meet at 8 a.m. June 9 at the USDA Service Center conference room, 2650 Richville Drive SE in Massillon. The meeting is open to the public, and interested parties can attend via Zoom conference call at 312-626-6799, using Meeting ID: 928 9167 2433 and Passcode: 817074.

VETERANS FLAGS – Flags will be removed from veterans graves at Alliance City Cemetery beginning at 8 a.m. June 11, if they are dry. Alliance Memorial Day Committee expressed its thanks to volunteers who helped place flags on May 26. Soon after the effort started, a heavy, cold rain began. Organizers said volunteers continued on until all graves were marked.

GRANGE DINNER – Pike Grange, 1421 Battlesburg Road SE in East Sparta, plans a drive-thru chicken dinner from 3 p.m. until sellout June 11. Meals will include chicken breast, noodles, corn, applesauce, rhubarb sauce, bread and dessert. Cost is $12. Drive in and meals will be brought to your car.

SRMC SUPPORT – University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center at Salem Regional Medical Center plans a cancer support group meeting at 3 p.m. June 8 in SRMC’s Oncology Conference Room, in the hospital’s second floor Cancer & Infusion Center. Clinical dietitian Julie Stefanec, will be presenting on nutrition at the meeting. Attendees should check in at the Oncology Department front desk before entering the meeting. SRMC’s Ostomy Support Group will meet at 4 p.m. June 13 in the hospital’s private dining room, at the back of the cafeteria on the hospital’s ground floor. The free sessions are led by SRMC’s certified wound, ostomy and continence nurse. Registration is requested by calling Tashia Watkins at 330-332-7607.
