PRESSURE CHECKS – Aultman Alliance Community Hospital has announced it will resume offering free blood pressure checks to the public. Checks will return June 14 and will continue each Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A volunteer team will staff the blood pressure station. Note: Those coming in for a blood pressure check must go through COVID screening at the entrance and wear a mask at all times while in the facility. WILDLIFE WORKSHOP – Stark Soil & Water Conservation District plans a wildlife habitat workshop at 5:30 p.m. June 28 at Huston-Brumbaugh Nature Center, 16146 Daniel St. NE in Minerva. Ohio State University Wildlife Ecologist Dr. Gabe Karns will present research findings for proper management of habitat within transmission right-of-ways and other edge habitats. The event will conclude with a tour of an electric ROW that has been established with native perennial pollinator habitat. Reservations are required at www.starkswcd.org or 330-451-7645.

BOOK SALE – Minerva Public Library, 677 Lynnwood Drive, plans a summer book sale from June 15-18. A selection of DVDs, music CDs, VHS tapes and audiobooks also will be available for purchase. Proceeds support the purchase of new library materials and library programs. Sale hours will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 15; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. June 16; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 17; and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 18. The sale’s final day will be a $1 per bag sale. WEST BRANCH – West Branch Local Schools' Board of Education plans a special meeting at 5 p.m. Wednesday in West Branch High School's Conference Room, 14277 S. Main St. in Beloit. The board will move into executive session, and purpose of the meeting is listed as discussions of employment, appointment, dismissal, discipline, promotion, demotion, compensation of a public employee; to consider legal matters required to be kept confidential by federal law or regulations or state statutes; and consider confidential information related to marketing plans, specific business strategy, or production techniques.
