CHURCH BREAKFAST – Damascus United Methodist Church and Middle Sandy Presbyterian Church plan their monthly community breakfast from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Damascus church, 300 Valley Road. Breakfast is all-you-can-eat with made to order pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, juice and coffee. Cost is donation-only. The breakfast proceeds will benefit the upcoming summer mission trip.

MARLINGTON MEETING – Marlington Local Schools plans a special meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Marlington Local Administrative office. Purpose of the meeting is to recess into executive session pursuant to R.C. 121.22 G(1) to consider the employment of a public employee.

SALEM POE PROGRAM – Salem Historical Society plans “Edgar Allan Poe One-Man Show” for 7 p.m. Tuesday at Shaffer Library, 239 S. Lundy Ave. John Kiste, horror writer and former president of Stark County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, will be presenter. Kiste has been performing a one-man show as Edgar Allan Poe for more than two decades. The program will depict Poe not as the morose character he is sometimes made out to be. Time will be left for a Q&A. Historical Society members and non-members are invited to the program. Contact Salem Historical Society with questions at 330-337-8514.

ALLIANCE SAFETY – Alliance City Council's Safety and Judiciary Committee will meet at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the 2nd Floor Conference Room at the City Administration Building, 504 E. Main St. Purpose of the meeting is to discuss Alliance codified ordinances 333.09 and 333.02.
