REGULA AWARDS – University of Mount Union’s Regula Center for Public Service and Civic Engagement is seeking nominations for the second annual Ralph Regula Award for Public Service and the Mary Regula Award for Community Service. The Ralph Regula Award recognizes an individual who exemplifies the ideals of the late Ralph Regula, who spent his career as a public servant. It goes to a person employed in the public sector in Stark County who has dedicated their career and works to the betterment of Stark County consistently. The Mary Regula Award for Community Service recognizes an individual in Stark County who volunteers their time to improve the lives of others, much like Mary’s commitment to the legacy of first ladies, improving the lives of those in Stark County and serving others. Nominations can be submitted through forms at mountunion.edu/regula-center and will be accepted until mid-January. Award winners will be recognized at the Regula Center Annual Meeting, planned for March 23 at Alliance Country Club.

LIBRARY BOOK SALE – Salem Public Library Memorial Fund Association’s Book Sale will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in St. Paul School gymnasium, 925 E. State St. in Salem. Materials for sale include hardcover and paperback books, magazines, DVDs, CDs, and audiobooks for children, young adults and adults. Parking is available at the library next door to the gymnasium. ALLIANCE PARKS – City of Alliance Board of Park Commissioners will meet at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 25 at the Silver Park office, 2930 S. Union Ave.

CAR SHOW – Alliance High School plans its “Bring Whatcha Run” car show fundraiser for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the high school’s parking lot. The event is free to attend, and entry fee for those wishing to show vehicles is by donation only. The top three vehicles will be awarded prizes. The first 50 vehicles will receive dash plaques. Funds raised will go to the Shawn Smith Memorial Scholarship.

SENIOR PARADE – Alliance High School has announced a Senior Parade beginning at 5 p.m. for all fall senior athletes and band members. Students will walk from Alliance High School along Rockhill, turn left onto Lilly, then enter Kehres Stadium through the back entrance.

FABULOUS FOOD FEST – The Women’s Division of Alliance Area Chamber of Commerce has announced its second Fabulous Food Fest with holiday auction at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 7 at Don Pancho’s Tex-Mex Café, 2105 W. State St. in Alliance. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. with an optional dinner to purchase for participants. Browsing of auction items will begin at 6 p.m. A 50/50 auction will be at 6:25 p.m., followed by the auction. Dinners available for purchase are a Mexican dinner; grilled chicken breast dinner; chicken fajita taco salad; or beef or chicken fajita dinner. SMHA BOARD – Stark County Common Pleas Court is seeking applicants to fill a position on the Stark Metropolitan Housing Authority Board of Directors. The person chosen will fulfill a five-year term that ends Jan. 31, 2025. The board meets the fourth Thursday of each month for regular meetings, and has special meetings as needed. MCJAS MEETING – Board of Directors for Multi-County Juvenile Attention System will meet at 11 a.m. Oct. 25 at the MCJAS Administration Building, 815 Faircrest St. SW in Canton.
