Area news in brief for Oct. 4

KNOX TRUSTEES – Knox Township trustees will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at 2895 Knox School Road. Trustees will convene at 6:45 p.m. to review bills.

SCRAPBOOKING/CARD-MAKING – Grace United Church of Christ, 13275 Cleveland Ave. in Lake Township, plans a scrapbooking and card-making fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 15. Advanced registration is required, and space is limited. A $25 per person registration fee includes the use of one 8-foot table per person, snacks throughout the day, a sandwich-and-salad bar lunch, hourly door prize drawings, use of Cricut and Sizzix die-cutting and Cuttlebug embossing machines, 100+ punches and various stencils. Helpers will be available at 8:30 a.m. when the doors open to unload your vehicle and move your supplies to your reserved table. To register, call Sandie Sourwine at 330-472-6369. Fundraising event also includes a raffle for a variety of prize baskets, and ticket-holders do not need to be present to win. Raffle tickets are $1 each, or six for $5, and can be purchased throughout the event.

ALLIANCE TRIVIA – Alliance Historical Society is offering a chance to test your memory and knowledge at a trivia night from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 25 at A-Town Burgers and Brews. The society fundraiser will challenge teams with six rounds of 10 questions each, in categories including general knowledge, movies and TV, sports, cartoon characters, geography, and, of course, local history. Admission is $80 for each four-person team and includes visits to A-Town’s burger bar (sides and drinks not included). Teams can purchase mulligans, and there will be a double-point round of questions. There also will be 50-50 drawings, gift card prizes, and more. SALEM HISTORICAL – Salem Historical Society will be open 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays. Last tour begins at 3:30 p.m. Enter through the Gift Shop, 239 S. Lundy Ave.
