Area players, coaches earn top East District Soccer honors

A number of area players and coaches earned top honors as the East District Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association announced their all-star teams recently.

New Philadelphia's Audrey Harr was named Division I Girls Player of the Year and fellow Quaker Elliott Warner won Division II Boys Player of the Year honors, while Coshocton's Judah Nelson clamed Division III Boys Player of the Year.

Coaches of the Year were New Philadelphia's Brian Rotunno (Division I Girls), Dover's Austin Wade (Division II Boys) and Coshocton's Larry Peterson (Division III Boys). New Philadelphia's Cara Calland was named Assistant Coach of the Year in Division II Girls.

Sportsmanship awards went to New Philadelphia (Division I Girls), Dover (Division II Boys) and Ridgewood (Division III Girls).

Girls Team Academic awards went to Coshocton, Dover, Harrison Central, New Philadelphia, River View, Sandy Valley and West Holmes, while the River View boys were honored.

Coshocton's Keeley Murray, Olivia Blust and Ellivea Brown, River View's Kelsey Bowman and Michaela White and West Holmes Allyson Ogi were honored individually academically.

River View's Evan Duncan, Bradley Filimon, Bryson Fry, Owen Hettinger, Colston Lauvray and Gage Summers were boys individual academic award winners.
