Area players earn spots on Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association All-State team

A total of 20 players from the Coastal Bend earned spots on the 2022 Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association All-State teams, which were announced on Thursday.

Sinton's Rylan Galvan earned a spot as a catcher on the association's "Elite" Class 4A All-State team as four other area 4A players earned spots on the first team. Calallen senior Justin Lamkin along with Sinton's Blake Mitchell were named as first team pitchers, and Calallen's Roberto Perez as a first baseman and Rockport-Fulton's Jordan Gibson as a second baseman.

Moody infielder Derek Hernandez was a first team selection on the Class 5A team along with Gregory-Portland senior and Texas Tech senior Easton Dowell. In Class 3A, London pitcher Kade Budd and Odem's Marcus Martinez received first team nods. Refugio's Jordan Kelley was a first team selection in Class 2A.
