Area players tabbed as District 5 All-Stars

All six area basketball teams were represented as the District 5 Basketball Coaches Association announced their all-star teams recently.

River View senior Owen Emig made the Division I-II first team with Minerva's Garrett Gonzalez, Steubenville's Phaeton Hill, East Liverpool's Preston Kerr, Indian Creek's Logan Kuczykowski, Carrollton's Jaxon Rinkes, Dover's Tyler Stevenson and New Philadelphia's Carter Vandall.

Rinkes was tabbed the division's Player of the Year, while Carrollton's Mike Aukerman received Coach of the Year honors.

Brody Border made second team and Laired Williamson was honorable mention for the Black Bears.

In Division III, Coshocton's Colton Conkle garnered first-team mention with Malvern's J'Allen Barrino, Sandy Valley's Dantae Faiello and Jordan Wigfield, Harrison Central's Jace Madzia, Tusky Valley's Silas Miller and Garaway's Alex Roden.

Barrino was tabbed the Player of the year, while Sandy Valley's Gary Offenberger and Malvern's Dennis Tucci shared Coach of the Year honors.

Ridgewood's Kauelen Smith was named to second team, while Coshocton's Coby Moore and Ridgewood's Chris Matthews received honorable mention.

For Division III girls, Coshcoton's Savannah Bartlett received first-team recognition, along with Claymont's Bailey Eddelman, Edison's Pamela Johnson, Buckeye Local's Pam Kandrach, Tusky Valley's Kaleigh Norris and Beaver Local's Peyton Roberts.

Eddelman was named the Player of the Year and Tusky Valley's Matt Ward was tabbed Coach of the Year.

Ridgewood's Kelley Masloksi and Coshocton's Isabelle Lauvray were on the second team, and Hailey Helter from Coshocton and Kya Masloski of Ridgewood were given honorable mention.

In Division II, Lily Yoder made second team for River View, while teammate Prestyn Patterson was honorable mention.

West Holmes' Ella McMillen was the Player of the Year, and the Knights' Lindsy Snyder earned Coach of the Year accolades.
