Area roundup: Kings shake off Gorham in boys hockey

Jan. 18—AUBURN — Breck Langevin scored late in the third period to give the Leavitt/Gray-New Gloucester/Oak Hill/Poland boys hockey team a 2-1 victory over the Gorham at Norway Savings Bank Arena on Wednesday.

Langevin received a pass in the neutral zone and skated along the left wing and his wrist shot beat Gorham goalie Jasper Crane (27 saves). Defenseman Jamison Bergeron made the pass and had the assist.

The Kings (3-5) took a 1-0 when Will Keach beat Crane nearly 10 minutes into the first period. Hunter Bussiere and Conner Bouley had the assists.

Gorham (4-6) tied it with a minute to play in the period as Cam Whittemore shot a loose puck in front of the crease on a power play. Corliss Ordway had the assist

The Rams were 1 for 3 with the man advantage. Poland/Leavitt/Oak Hill/Gray-New Gloucester went 0 for 2.

Kade Knight made 16 saves for the Kings.

Caden Petit scored twice and added an assist for the Tigers (3-5) in a victory over the Eagles (1-7) at Bowdoin College's Sid Watson Arena in Brunswick.

Hunter Boudreau and Chase Magnant each contributed a goal and an assist for Biddeford/Massabesic/Old Orchard. Jamie Sperlich also potted a goal, while Collin Scully had two assists. Goalie Aden Dube turned aside 24 shots .

Zander Kirk scored twice for Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse/Hyde, and Jacob Fullerton also found the back of the net. Gerek Theriault and Henry Pennell each had a helper. Sam Young stopped 22 shots.

Caleb Micklon tallied two goals for the Ice Cats (4-3) in the win over the Trail Blazers (4-7) at USM Ice Arena in Gorham.

Owen Galligan and Kadan Neureuther each notched a goal and two assists in the win while Neil Heath also scored a goal for Fryeburg/Lake Region/Oxford Hills.

Nate Metcalf stopped 17 shots in the victory.

Ben Shaw and Daniel Hancock gave Windham/Westbrook/Bonny Eagle/Sacopee Valley a 2-0 lead in the first four minutes of the game.

Isaac White made 27 saves in the loss.

Marley LeBel and Remy LeBel both notched hat tricks as Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse/Lincoln/Oceanside/Boothbay (7-4) defeated Biddeford/Thornton/Wells/Sanford (3-8-1) in Brunswick.

Mackenzie Day and Lily LeSieur were the goal scorers for Biddeford.

Six Cougars (12-0) scored in double figures as the lapped the Wolverines (0-9) in Wiscasset.

Trenton Hutching led Dirigo's scoring charge with 16 points. Nathaniel Wainwright scored 15, Dakota Tompkins and Logan Timberlake each contributed 11 points and Charlie Houghton and Bode Gray had 10 apiece. Also, Airick Richard scored nine for the Cougars.

Wiscasset's Dylan Akers scored a game-high 21 points, and teammate Jevar Garricks finished with 13.

Silvano Ismail scored 26 points to power the Stags (9-3) past the Red Eddies (3-8) at Lewiston.

Leo McNabb had 15 points and Giovanni St. Onge added 12.

Colby Frisbie's 16 points led the Falcons (5-5) in their win over the Raiders (2-10) in Wales.
