Area school districts report board election results
Nov. 11—School board members were elected in public school districts across the area Nov. 8.
In most cases, the districts had full slates of candidates, but that wasn't the case in two area school districts. Write-in votes will be used to fill those slots.
Most area districts elect candidates at-large, but MACCRAY Public Schools board members are elected in districts, and no one filed to run in District 2.
Superintendent Sherri Broderius said she is waiting to hear a final tally of write-in votes from county officials. It could be next week before the board member elected in that district is known.
In Yellow Medicine East Public Schools, just two candidates filed for three open board seats. Superintendent Rich Schneider said he is also waiting for a final write-in tally from counties.
The boundaries of each district go into several counties.
