Garfield, the No. 10 seed, advances to play at No. 7 Rootstown on Wednesday.

Notes: No. 15 seed Waterloo got three by Luke Simons and two hits and four RBIs from Noah Hughes to advance past No. 16 Newton Falls. The Vikings play No. 4 Ursuline on Wednesday. Hughes was also the winning pitcher, allowing seven hits and four runs over five innings. He struck out seven. Jordan Dowling had two singles for Newton Falls.

Maddy Taylor had three hits, including a homer and double, and three RBIs. Matti Benson, Jenna Collins and Shelby Mayle had singles for Louisville.
