What area students like about spring
The Kids Page is a compilation of responses written by kindergarten through eighth-grade students from area schools. Students are asked a different question each month and answers are printed weekly.
This month’s question: What is your favorite thing about spring?

My favorite thing about spring is my birthday is in spring. During my birthday we go on vacation. Also, my birthday is close to Easter. I get triple the gifts because I get a vacation, birthday gifts and Easter gifts. In conclusion my favorite thing about spring is my birthday.
My next thing I like about spring is the sports. The first sport I play is flag football. I like flag football because I love to catch a ball. The next sport I play is soccer. I like soccer because I like to kick. In conclusion, I like to play sports in the spring.

I love spring and these are the reasons why. I love spring because Easter is in the spring and it’s my favorite holiday because you get a visit from the Easter bunny. Another thing is you get to eat a lot of candy on Easter. Now just think going outside on a hot spring day and doing an Easter egg hunt. How fun is that you never know there might be money there might be candy. Now you can see I love spring because of Easter.
Now you know I love spring because of Easter but I also love spring because of all the sweet dandelions and other flowers like tulips, daisies and a ton more. Now the first reason I love spring and the flowers that come with it is because you can run around smelling the sweet smell of so many flowers. Another reason I love spring flowers is because you can pick the flowers and make a bouquet for yourself or other people. The last reason I adore the lovely flowers is because you can decorate a lot of things with flowers and they are usually so pretty. In conclusion I love spring and the flowers and sweet smells that come with them.

I like a lot of things about spring but my favorite thing about spring is that I always go on vacation on spring break. I like to go to the beach and swim in a pool and much more stuff. Last spring me and my family went to Florida and we had a lot of fun. This year we are going to the Bahamas. I think it is going to be very fun. There is a beach where we are going and there are wild pigs that you can swim with. You can also feed the wild pigs too. We are going to go snorkeling in the clear blue water. I think it is going to be an amazing trip.
My second reason why I like going on vacation so much is because I love to fly on planes. I think that flying on planes is so fun. The workers come to your seat and give you a free snack. I like the snacks they give on planes a lot too. Then they come back and they give you any drink you want. I usually get Mountain Dew or Coke. Mountain Dew is my favorite pop.
Then I like to look out the windows and see how high up we are. It is so cool to be above the clouds like that. My last reason I love flying is that you can get to places far away fast. I hate to ride in a car for a very long time. My back starts to hurt and I can’t even go to sleep. In a plane I can get places far away in a few hours. This year it is going to take the plane three hours to get to the Bahamas. Going on vacation is by far my favorite thing about spring.

My favorite thing about spring is the beautiful sunshine. Another thing is I like going to my cousin’s birthday. Her bday’s the 1st day of spring. Also in spring we get spring clean up. That means I can get rid of junk in my room. Furthermore, we get a spring break from school! In spring, the root beer stand opens and I like the root beer stand. Last, I like spring because that means it closer to summer and flowers bloom again! Why do you like spring?

My favorite things about spring are the mornings and the afternoons because at those times it is super warm and nice outside. Next is spring break because you can take a vacation and take some time off of school and relax. Lastly, is my birthday because if you have friends there you can talk and play with them.
