Ariah Fox of Bret Harte, Caleb Hendricks of Lincoln are The Record Athletes of the Week

The Record was back on the hunt for two Stockton prep athletes who stood out from the rest in the past week.

For the week of March 5 -11, Ariah Fox of Bret Harte girls' basketball and Caleb Hendricks of Lincoln baseball are The Record/Recordnet.com Athletes of the Week. Here's how these two athletes earned this recognition.

Ariah Fox

Class: Senior

Position: Guard

Team contributions: Fox paved the way for Bullfrog history in their NorCal Division V State Championship match against Marina on March 11. The senior guard was lethal on offense driving to the basket any chance she got and finishing at the rim almost every time. She ended the game with 22 points leading her team’s scoring.

Fox didn’t stop there. She also outhustled the Vikings grabbing up a game-high 15 rebounds to give her a double-double. When she wasn’t boxing out or scoring, she was playing tough defense. Fox snagged five steals rounding out her stats in Bret Harte's first-ever state championship win, 62-39 over Marina. Fox closes out her high school basketball career as a champion.

Caleb Hendricks

Class: Senior

Position: Catcher/ first base

Team contributions: Hendricks was tasked with being a leader this year as one of the Trojans' captains and so far he’s been getting the job done. As of Friday, Lincoln is ranked 11th in the SJS and has a record of 3-2. The senior has helped its success by bringing clutch hitting and shutdown defense behind the plate and from first base. Hendricks has the team's highest batting average and fielding percentage.

In the Trojans' latest win against McClatchy on March 8, he continued to dominate on both sides of the ball. Offensively he finished the game with a double and run. Defensively, Hendricks could do no wrong. He finished with five putouts on five chances putting the high fielding percentage on display. Lincoln beat the Lions 4-1 and is looking to do some more winning with Hendricks leading the way.
