So, Ariana Grande basically supported the boycott of her own song '7 rings' and I’m confused

If you’re as much of an Ariana Grande fan as me, no doubt you’ve been listening to '7 rings' and probs every other song from 'thank u, next' on repeat this week.

And yes it has only been seven days since it was released, and yes I do know all the lyrics, every secret detail from the video, and all of her BFFs who make an appearance. Sorry, not sorry.

But in some slightly weird Ari news, fans of the popstar have unexpectedly launched a new Twitter hashtag - #Boycott7Rings - to try and stop her latest track from hitting number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Well, basically they all just really really want 'break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored' to take the top spot instead. Not subtle at all guys...

To be fair, they’ve managed to do a pretty good job of causing some social media chaos, because the lady herself has something to say about #Boycott7Rings - and it turns out she’s not that bothered. Probably because it’s a total win-win situation...

Tweeting on Wednesday, Ariana said, “All are so insane and funny and i love u. nothings funnier than “boycott seven rings”….. i can’t lmao. whatever’s meant to be will be, babies i ain’t goin nowhere.”

When one follower revealed they were having a streaming party to block '7 rings', she seemed slightly weirded out by the whole thing, replying, “This is a wild time for us lmao do ur thing but also like how is this our problem rn …… what the fuck.”

But the best Ari reaction has to be when a fan asked her to join in her own boycott:

Yeah dw I’m still confused too.
