Ariana Grande Inspired So Many Signs at the 2019 Women's March

“You like my rights? Gee thanks, I want them.”

If there’s one thing the majority of protesters at the 2019 Women’s March had in common, it was their use of colorful and creative signs. From clever puns to straight-up breathtaking artwork, marchers let their posters do the talking for them. And seems as though Ariana Grande provided plenty of inspiration for some seriously clever protest signs.

In an Instagram post on Sunday, January 20, the “7 Rings” singer shared a highlight reel of posters definitely influenced by her music. There were plenty of “thank u, next” references aimed at Donald Trump, and several posters declaring “god is a woman.” There was even a sign stating that “the light is coming,” complete with a group photo of several of Congress’s newly-elected representatives, and one with a play on her latest single: “You like my rights? Gee thanks, I want them.” All in all? Total genius.

Given that Ariana’s music is often about self-love and empowerment, it makes total sense that her lyrics would find a new home at the Women’s March. Here’s to carrying that energy with us every day between now and 2020…and beyond.
