"Thank U, Next" may have been all about moving on from past relationships, but Ariana Grande is working on mending an old one.

She posted a photo to her Instagram Story while FaceTiming her father, Edward Butera. After losing touch a few years ago, the two now sporadically post photos with each other on social media.

"It's private, but it happened last year. It took me so long to be OK with it," Grande told Seventeen in 2014 of losing contact with her dad, a Florida-based graphic designer.

She continued: "The thing that got me there was embracing the fact that that I am made up of half my dad and a lot of my traits come from him. So much of me comes from my father and for so long, I didn’t like that about myself. I had to accept that it’s OK not to get along with somebody and still love them."

Butera is mentioned in Grande's recent hit, "Thank U, Next." She sings: "One day I'll walk down the aisle / Holding hands with my mama / I'll be thanking my dad / 'Cause she grew from the drama."

Butera and Grande's mother, Joan, divorced when Ariana was 8, according to Entertainment Tonight.

Grande wished him a Happy Father's Day last year on Instagram, posting a photo of the two smiling when she was a baby. "I love you," she wrote.
