Ariel Roblin: Ironman athletes in Sacramento showed that anything is possible

Last weekend, our city hosted the long-awaited debut of the Ironman California triathlon. After being canceled in 2021 due to one of the worst storms of the century, Sacramento hosted nearly 3,000 athletes from around the world. Athletes of all ages and backgrounds personified grit and endurance as they pushed their way through the 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike ride, and 26.2-mile run all the way to the red-carpet finish line. This event comes days after a string of bad news in our area and was a welcomed breath of positivity and a reminder of our community's collective strength. Our city rolled out the red carpet -- literally -- for this epic event, not just giving our area an economic boost, but an international badge of honor.
