Ariel Winter Went Strawberry Blonde

Post-Modern Family, post-sheer dress, and post-dark haired Alex Dunphy, Ariel Winter hit the salon and came out blonde. The drastic color change came courtesy of Tabitha Dueñas, a master stylist at celebrity-beloved Nine Zero One salon, who explained that Winter loves the color so much that she doesn't ever want to go back to black.

It's not the first time that Winter has gone light, however. Dueñas explained that the blonde color is actually a return to form for Winter, who has lightened her hair in the past between seasons of the ABC sitcom. She played Alex Dunphy for 11 seasons, which meant that she had to have Alex Dunphy's dark hair for 11 seasons.

Winter shared her new hair color on Instagram, writing, "I'm a strawberry and a shortcake sooooo new nickname?"

"With Modern Family's long run ending, Ariel is finally free to have the hair color she wants. She wanted to strip out the black and go back to her strawberry golden blonde look we had done previously when she was on break from filming," Dueñas said. "She said she never wants to go back to black again."
