Arizona-based Turtleback Trailers moves operations to Gallatin with Wil-Ro merger

A 50-year-old American-made and Veteran-owned company in Gallatin is expanding in a unique way.

Previously based in Chandler, Arizona, overland and adventure trailer manufacturer Turtleback Trailers has now moved operations to Gallatin following its acquisition in May by Wil-Ro, Inc., according to a press release.

The acquisition will allow the Gallatin-based truck bed and trailer manufacturer to expand brand presence in the overland — meaning self-reliant travel to remote destinations — industry.

"I am both excited and blessed to complete the acquisition of Turtleback Trailers. Our team looks forward to building on Turtleback's leading reputation within the overland industry – 10 years and counting," President and Owner of Turtleback Trailers and Wil-Ro, Inc. Joshua J. Coster said in a press release.

"I look forward to seeing the brand grow and maintain its presence as the premier overland trailer manufacturer. Welcome to Tennessee, Turtleback community and loyal supporters, I can't wait to meet you!"

Since 2013, Turtleback Trailers has helped others take life outside with its range of rugged, reliable and versatile trailers that meet the unique needs of outdoor enthusiasts, the press release said.

The company’s purpose-built, expedition inspired trailers have developed a reputation for innovation and quality craftmanship — drawing Wil-Ro in to combine its manufacturing expertise.

Wil-Ro has manufactured high-quality truck bodies and trailers since the 1970s.

Turtleback Trailers will now move its operations to join Wil-Ro’s headquarters in Gallatin as part of the acquisition, allowing for shared resources and a streamlined production process, the release said.

And production is scheduled to resume sometime this summer.

With great anticipation, we are laying the foundation for an exhilarating production launch in July 2023."
