For months, Arizona Cardinals fans have been speculating about who could potentially replace Kliff Kingsbury, should the team decide to move on from the head coach.

A former quarterback for the team questioned the Cardinals' ability to land a good coach, however, should it decide to make a coaching change.

Carson Palmer shared his thoughts on the state of Arizona's NFL team in a recent interview with the 33rd Team.

When asked by host Trey Wingo if he expected massive changes with the Cardinals, Palmer said the Arizona coaching job was "not that attractive" right now.

"I don't know. They just resigned Steve (Keim), they just resigned coach (Kliff) Kingsbury. Kyler's (Murray) coming back," Palmer said. "I know every job in the NFL is attractive but that's not that attractive of a job right now. If you fire Kliff … they've been recycling coaches every couple years. I'd be shocked if they cleaned house, but it's not looking great obviously with Kyler's situation as well."

NFL Week 16 picks: Jaguars vs. Jets | Falcons vs. Ravens | Lions vs. Panthers | Bills vs. Bears | Saints vs. Browns | Seahawks vs. Chiefs | Giants vs. Vikings | Bengals vs. Patriots | Texans vs. Titans | Commanders vs. 49ers | Eagles vs. Cowboys | Raiders vs. Steelers | Packers vs. Dolphins | Broncos vs. Rams | Buccaneers vs. Cardinals | Chargers vs. Colts

Palmer called the Cardinals' future "bleak" in the interview, citing Murray's status and a roster full of injuries and holes.

"It's tough to watch. I mean the future is bleak right now when you really look at it and you look at the timeline of things. Kyler blows his knee out the beginning of December. You've got to throw in nine months, maybe 12 depending on the process and any hiccups in the process. He's on a short timetable. They've got a lot of positions to fill. They've been banged up everywhere. They've lost guys in the front, on the backend of the defense.

He continued: "It's just been one of those years. It's not like we'll be fine, Kyler rehab, we'll be ready Week 1. That's unknown, we have no idea what's going to happen. Coaching situation, we don't know what's going to happen there. There are so many different ways that this is going to shake out at the end of this year. It's just one of those situations that now that I am a fan, watching, it's really been tough to watch."

NFL Week 16 odds: Jaguars vs. Jets | Falcons vs. Ravens | Lions vs. Panthers | Bills vs. Bears | Saints vs. Browns | Seahawks vs. Chiefs | Giants vs. Vikings | Bengals vs. Patriots | Texans vs. Titans | Commanders vs. 49ers | Eagles vs. Cowboys | Raiders vs. Steelers | Packers vs. Dolphins | Broncos vs. Rams | Buccaneers vs. Cardinals | Chargers vs. Colts

The Cardinals are 4-10 on the season and have three games remaining. They would currently hold the No. 5 pick in the 2023 NFL draft.

The situation does appear dire in Arizona, but there are only 32 NFL head coaching jobs, no matter how "bleak" the future might appear for the Cardinals.

Could big changes be headed their way?
