Arizona Cardinals' Kyler Murray barely makes NFL Top 101 players list for 2022 season

Quarterback Kyler Murray has a new contract with the Arizona Cardinals.

But he evidently still has a lot to prove on the football field.

Touchdown Wire recently ranked the Top 101 players in the NFL for the 2022 season and Murray made the list, but just barely.

The Cardinals QB came in at No. 97 in the rankings, which were compiled by Doug Farrar and Mark Schofield.

They wrote: "The Cardinals recently gave Murray a contract extension that makes him one of the NFL’s highest-paid players. The pressure is thus on for Murray to keep the explosive plays coming, and keep reducing those moments of randomness that occasionally pop up."

Interestingly, Touchdown Wire compiled a list of the Top 12 quarterbacks in the NFL earlier this month.

Murray came in at No. 11 on that list, just making the ranking.

He came in right ahead of Las Vegas Raiders' QB Derek Carr on both lists.

Murray wasn't the only Cardinals player to show up in the Top 101 NFL player rankings by Touchdown Wire.

The team did have one other (yes, just one other) player make the list.

Wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins came in at No. 55.

Touchdown Wire wrote of Hopkins: "It is never a good thing when the phrases “when healthy” or “when available” appear in a write-up like this one. However, that is where we find ourselves with DeAndre Hopkins heading into the 2022 campaign. Last season saw his streak of four-straight years with over 1,000 receiving yards cut short when Hopkins suffered a torn MCL in December, cutting his season short. It was the first time he played less than 15 games in a season, and it limited him to just 42 receptions for 572 yards and eight touchdowns. Then there is the suspension, which will see Hopkins on the sidelines for the first six games of the 2022 season for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs. Hopkins maintains his innocence and is hoping for a reduction in the suspension, but the six games remain in place as of now."

Where's Cardinals safety Budda Baker?

Cardinals safety Budda Baker is often regarded as one of the top safeties in the league, but he didn't make Touchdown Wire's Top 101 players list.

He did make some other top NFL players lists for 2022, however.

Pro Football Network had Baker ranked No. 55 (it hadn't released its Top 50 player rankings).

CBS Sports put Baker No. 69 on its list. It had Hopkins No. 71  and Murray No. 88.

Sportnaut placed Hopkins at No. 56 in its top 100 players in the NFL ranking. It had Murray at No. 37.

The Game Haus had Cardinals center Rodney Hudson No. 92 in its ranking of the Top 100 NFL players for the upcoming season. Baker was No. 88 on its list.  Murray was No. 70.
