Zach Ertz and Julie Ertz welcomed a baby boy into the world last week.

The tight end and the Arizona Cardinals introduced him to the world with tweets on Thursday morning and the tweets got people talking about the baby's name.

The Ertz family named their baby Madden.

Madden Matthew Ertz.

Julie Ertz posted the following on Instagram: "One week already with our sweet boy! Madden Matthew Ertz you are so loved. Beyond grateful to be your mommy. @zachertz and I can’t even put into words how blessed we are to be your parents."

We're assuming the couple named him after John Madden, the Hall of Fame NFL coach and broadcaster who died in December, and not the popular video game named after the coach and broadcaster, although some on social media thought the name was for the video game.

With a name like Madden and two athletes as parents (Julie Ertz plays soccer professionally and on the U.S. National Women's Soccer Team), he's got to end up being an athlete, right?

The Ertz's announcement timing was impeccable.

The Madden NFL 23 video game is scheduled to be released on Friday.
