Sports Betting Dime: Go with the Diamondbacks vs. Marlins

Blair Johnson writes: "Miami had won seven straight coming into this series. But the Marlins have clearly been snakebit. With Bumgarner’s bounce-back season on full display and Arizona’s proclivity for the long ball — and Hernandez’s propensity for serving them up — I think the Snakes get the sweep."

Fansided: Take the under in Diamondbacks vs. Marlins game

Matt De Saro writes: "Facing off against Bumgarner will be Elieser Hernandez making his fifth start for Maimi. He enters this game with a 5.75 ERA and 1.33 WHIP. This would be concerning against most teams but the D-Backs don’t pose much of a threat at the plate. I predict a low-scoring game here. I think Bumgarner continues to roll and the Diamondbacks continue to be ineffective on offense."

Winners and Whiners: Go with the Diamondbacks vs. Marlins on Wednesday

It writes: "Madison Bumgarner has not allowed more than one earned run in any of his first five starts this season. Overall, the left-hander has allowed three earned runs and 15 hits in 23 innings pitched. Arizona has won two of those five starts. In the two wins, Arizona has scored an average of 5.00 runs per game, while in the three losses the Diamondbacks averaged 1.33 runs scored. Miami starting pitcher Elieser Hernandez has been hit hard in each of his last two outings allowing a combined 12 hits and eight runs in just 9 ⅔ innings pitched. Miami has lost eight of its last 10 when playing against a team from the National League West."

Stat Salt: Take the Marlins with the money line vs. Diamondbacks

It writes: "The Miami Marlins have been able to develop young pitching but as we discussed earlier, their hitting is above-average. The Arizona Diamondbacks are struggling to provide their pitchers with enough run support. Madison Bumgarner and Elieser Hernandez are essentially a wash right now in terms of what type of start they can give their team. Miami is 11th in baseball with a 3.37 team ERA while Arizona is right behind them in 12th with a 3.40 ERA. However, when looking at the bullpens, this is a completely different story as the Marlins have a 3.24 bullpen ERA while the D-Backs are pitching to a 4.30 reliever ERA. The Diamondbacks have lost five of their previous six road games against the Marlins so go with the Miami Marlins to win here at home."

Sports Chat Place: Go with the Diamondbacks in series finale vs. Marlins

Andrew Jett writes: "I’m going to try Arizona here. Bumgarner has been on a nice run so far this year, with only one tough-luck loss to his credit. In the last three outings, Bumgarner has put up just one earned on nine hits and five walks in 15.0 innings. As for Hernandez, he’s been hit and miss this year but does have a few solid starts under his belt. All things considered here I like the D-Backs better win-wise, though."

Pick Dawgz: Diamondbacks will beat Marlins Wednesday

David Racey writes: "Arizona is 48-110 in their last 158 games and 17-59 in their last 76 road games. The over is 5-1 in Arizona’s last 6 road games. Miami is 7-2 in their last 9 games and 5-2 in their last 7 Wednesday games. The under is 5-2 in Miami’s last 7 Wednesday games. The over is 4-1 in these two teams last 5 head to head meetings in Miami. Arizona has won four of their last five games and will be looking for the sweep in this matchup. Miami was playing well to start the season, but have lost three straight. Madison Bumgarner has been very good to start the year and I like the Diamondbacks to win this game."
