Jobs remain widely available in Arizona, where the unemployment rate has eased to 3.2%. To attract workers in a challenging market, many employers are trying new efforts including expanded educational opportunities, social-hour job fairs and virtual interviews.

These are some recent job opportunities in metro Phoenix.

McDonald’s seeks 4,500 workers

McDonald’s restaurants throughout Arizona are seeking to hire more than 4,500 employees in both part-time and full-time positions.

The fast-food giant didn’t disclose starting pay, but McDonald’s employees can receive help earning a high school diploma, taking English as a second language courses, tuition assistance and free career guidance.

New this year: McDonald’s has partnered with Western Governors University to provide McDonald’s employees and their families with a 5% discount on tuition and access to WGU-funded scholarships.

Some employees also may receive reimbursed costs for an associate’s or bachelor’s degree from Colorado Technical University as well as a free laptop.

Job seekers can visit jobs.mchire.com to learn more about these opportunities or to apply for jobs at nearby restaurants.
