Arizona Republican Reps. Andy Biggs and Paul Gosar have been politicians for a long time. They’re not newbies.

Did they not get the memo about people running for public office and infants?

Did they fail to read it?

(That actually would not surprise me.)

Old school political hacks like Biggs and Gosar are supposed to kiss babies.

They’re not supposed to kiss off babies.

But, that is what Arizona’s least productive, most offensive members of Congress just did.

Biggs and Gosar were among only nine U.S. House members, all Republicans, to vote against the Access to Baby Formula Act, which is meant to help struggling mothers and fathers get the formula needed for their children.

Biggs and Gosar have undermined everyone else

I suppose this shouldn’t surprise anyone.

Having spent their careers ignoring their oaths, undermining the government they swore to serve and the citizens who elected them, I guess the only victims left for Biggs and Gosar to go after were ... infants.

More from Montini: Gosar's grotesque globetrotting on your dime

Biggs and Gosar were, after all, among the politicians who tried to overturn a duly certified presidential election with no evidence, and with uncomfortable links to those behind the Jan. 6 demonstrations that led to the attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Biggs and Gosar also have proven themselves to be loyal “Putinistas,” proudly backing the position of Russian strongman, Vladimir Putin, who ordered the attack on Ukraine that continues to destroy cities and kill civilians.

Who's that yelling 'get off our lawn'?

Biggs and Gosar voted with only 15 others in the House against a Russian oil ban in response the invasion of Ukraine.

They also were among six Republican representatives to vote against a bill directing the White House to prepare a report in which it collects and examines evidence concerning war crimes committed since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

We could go on and on.

You can practically picture Biggs and Gosar sitting on rocking chairs at the foot of the Capitol screeching at children walking with their families on the grounds of the National Mall to “get off our lawn!”

Why is it that so many politicians who claim to be "pro life" seem to lose all of their concern for children immediately after they are born?

And by the way, someone should remind Biggs and Gosar, just in case either of them comes into contact with a newborn in their public or private lives, that when a person talks about throwing out the baby with the bath water – that’s a bad thing.
