Arizona State coach Bobby Hurley, two players disciplined for confronting official after Stanford game

Arizona State was going to have a tough time tackling No. 16 USC in Monday's 9 p.m. Pac-12 game at the Galen Center. It's going to be even tougher now.
The Sun Devils (6-10, 2-4) will be without head coach Bobby Hurley and guard Jay Heath as both were suspended for a game by Pac-12 Commissioner George Kliavkoff. for their actions following the Sun Devils 79-76 loss to Stanford at Maples Pavilion Saturday night.
Hurley was also reprimanded and fined $20,000 for verbally confronting an official as they attempted to exit the court following the conclusion of the contest.
Junior forward Jalen Graham was not suspended but was reprimanded.
"The actions of the head coach and student-athletes were in clear violation of the Conference’s standards of conduct, and will not be tolerated,” Kliavkoff said in the conference press release. “The Pac-12 and its membership has established regulations requiring all institutional personnel, especially head coaches, to conduct themselves in a sporting manner, and those involved in this situation failed to meet those standards.”
Proceeds of the fine will go toward the Pac-12 student-athlete scholarship fund.
Hurley and the players were upset over the discrepancy in the fouls called in the contest which factored into the outcome. A total of 28 fouls were called on ASU with Alonzo Gaffney and Kimani Lawrence both fouling out and four others finishing with four fouls.
Stanford was called for 16. The Cardinal shot 41 free throws, making 32 while ASU shot just nine making seven.
ASU rallied from a 15-point deficit in the second half and tied the game 76-76 on bucket by Graham with eight seconds left.
On Stanford's next possession Graham was called for a foul on Stanford's Brandon Angel who was getting off a 3-pointer with a second left. Angel then went to the line and made three free throws for the difference in the contest.
Heath is averaging 9.9 points and 3.9 rebounds. He has played in 14 games, starting the last four. He will likely be replaced in the starting lineup by Luther Muhammad who has played in all 15 games and started 11.
