Sporting News: USC 42, Arizona State 17
Bill Bender writes: "The Sun Devils are still trying to figure that out after Herm Edwards was fired. Arizona State's inability to stop the run (182.5 ypg.) is going to be a problem in this game, and the Trojans will look to bounce back to after a subpar offensive performance at Oregon State. Caleb Williams has a 74.6% completion percentage at home. That will fuel the Pac-12 blowout."
Sports Chat Place: Take USC to cover against Arizona State
It writes: "I’m staying with USC, but it’s admittedly a thick line. The Trojans were playing with fire over the weekend against a solid Oregon State team, but they ended up powering out a nice victory in the end. USC finished with 357 total yards, 21 first downs and came up with four turnovers. It was a relatively tepid offensive performance overall, though. As for Arizona State, they were dominated in most facets by Utah over the weekend and predictably lost big. The Sun Devils haven’t scored more than 21 points for three straight weeks—though they’ve gone up against a couple of very good teams in that span."
Doc's Sports: Go with ASU football with the points vs. USC
Tony Sink writes: "The Trojans are giving up 18.3 points per game, which has them sitting 30th in the country. USC has allowed the opposition a total of 684 yards via the ground game (171.0 yards per game) as well as 8 touchdowns via the rush on the season. This year, they have given up 73 points in total. They have conceded 2 touchdowns through the air in addition to 194.5 yards per outing, which has them sitting 38th in the country. The Trojans defense has been on the field for 264 plays, ranking them 58th in the country."
