Arizona Wildcats ranked in early men's college basketball Top 25 rankings for 2023-24

Early men's college basketball Top 25 rankings for the 2023-24 season are out and there are some very different opinions about where the Arizona Wildcats basketball program should be ranked next season.

Tommy Lloyd's team is as high as No. 6 in one ranking, but as low as No. 18 in another.

Will the Wildcats be a Pac-12 title and national championship contender in 2023-24?

Check out what college basketball writers are saying about the Arizona men's basketball program in their early college basketball rankings for next season at the conclusion of the 2022-23 season.

Sports Illustrated: Arizona ranked No. 7 in early Top 25 for next season

Kevin Sweeney writes: "There are plenty of questions to answer this spring in the backcourt for Tommy Lloyd, but the Wildcats could have the nation’s best frontcourt assuming big men Azuolas Tubelis and Oumar Ballo return to school. Tubelis profiles as a potential National Player of the Year candidate after being a second-team All-American this year. The question is whether the Wildcats can get consistent guard play: Sophomore Kylan Boswell could be in for a breakout campaign, but hitting the transfer portal needs to be a priority."

Fox Sports: Wildcats No. 18 in early men's college basketball ranking

John Fanta writes: "The Wildcats could bring back the dynamic duo of Azuolas Tubelis and Oumar Ballo in the frontcourt, and Pelle Larsson will return in the backcourt. Expect Tommy Lloyd to acquire guard play in the portal, and as much as Kerr Kriisa is a loss, I think it's best that both sides moved on from one another."

CBS Sports: Arizona comes in at No. 14 in 2023-24 Top 25 ranking

Gary Parrish writes: "This ranking is based on the Wildcats returning three of the top five scorers from a team that won the Pac-12 Tournament before securing a No. 2 seed in the 2023 NCAA Tournament. All-American Azuolas Tubelis should headline a roster that will be good enough to once again compete with UCLA for the Pac-12 title."

Sporting News: Wildcats ranked No. 12 in early poll for 2023-24

The site has Tommy Lloyd's team between No. 11 Michigan State and No. 13 Kansas in its early ranking for next season.

ESPN: Arizona No. 8 in early men's college basketball ranking

Jeff Borzello writes: "This ranking assumes Azuolas Tubelis returns to Tucson. If he's back in the fold, Tommy Lloyd will once again have arguably the best frontcourt duo in the country in Tubelis and Oumar Ballo. Besides Tubelis' status, we'll be closely watching whether the Wildcats can land enough perimeter pop. Kylan Boswell should be fine as Kerr Kriisa's replacement, while Pelle Larsson is also back. But expect more weapons."

247 Sports: Wildcats placed at No. 16 in Top 25 poll for next season

Kevin Flaherty writes: "The Wildcats’ stunning loss to Princeton in the first round overshadowed how good this team was, a roster that could feasibly return both Azuolas Tubelis and Oumar Ballo, but figures to bring back at least one of the two. Add in Pelle Larsson, Kylan Boswell and some of the names Arizona is linked with in the transfer portal, and the Wildcats should be among the Pac-12’s best again."

Fansided: Arizona at No. 6 in early men's college basketball ranking for 2023-24

Tristan Freeman writes: "The issue for the Wildcats was the backcourt and its inconsistencies, which plagued them overall. There’s going to be some turnover now, as Ramey and Henderson have no eligibility left, while Kriisa has entered the transfer portal. The one guard left in the main rotation is Pelle Larsson, who averaged 9.9 ppg and 3.1 apg."

Stadium: Wildcats show up at No. 15 in early poll for next season

Jeff Goodman writes: "The Wildcats are losing a lot — likely Azuolas Tubelis in addition to Kerr Kriisa and Courtney Ramey. Tommy Lloyd has veteran big man Oumar Ballo, Pelle Larsson and point guard Kylan Boswell returning. Lloyd also likes the potential of young international big man Henri Veesaar."
