Ranking college football coaches whose jobs might be in jeopardy can be very subjective and incredibly difficult to do.
But that doesn't stop many sites and writers from often compiling lists of college football coaches on the hot seat.
One site's such ranking for the 2022 season definitely has some Arizona football fans scratching their heads.
coacheshotseat.com, a site dedicated to ranking college football coaches on the hot seat, lists Arizona coach Jedd Fisch as the No. 8 coach on the hot seat in all of college football right now.

Based on his record last season, that might at first seem reasonable, after all, Fisch's Wildcats went just 1-11 in 2021.
However, it was Fisch's first season in Tucson and the program has some buzz around it for the 2022 season after landing some key transfers and a highly touted recruiting class.
Perhaps just as surprising as Fisch's inclusion on coacheshotseat.com list is its omission of another Arizona college football head coach.
The site ranks 30 coaches on the hot seat for next season and Arizona State's Herm Edwards is not included among those 30.
Edwards' team is in the midst of an NCAA recruiting investigation that has resulted in an exodus of transfers, large turnover on the coaching staff and limited recruiting success.

Some slammed the college football coaches on the hot seat rankings:
Just stumbled across this website and WTF!? Jedd is #8 on the hot seat list...total garbage. The dude has coached ONE season and just got a top-25 recruiting class! For people who claim to know what they're doing, this is absolute trash! https://t.co/49nMZpH6n7

This is an awful list in places. No Herm? Shaw? Fitzgerald? Fisch and the Vandy coaches have a bit of a leash. As does Sark.

Exactly! Literally whomever came up with this list couldn't have done so with either any sort of research...or being sober.

Jedd and Stark have both coached one year. Guess they have 0 patience lol

Lol, where is the Herminator?

Not in the top-30...I mean this is pure BS!

I looked it over but couldn't find a name of someone taking credit for this. Did I miss it? More important question is, did somebody actually get paid for writing this, if so I want to apply for a job with them.

HA! Right!? I wish I had an internship this easy in college!

Sark way too high when he just got Arch Manning
Probably messed up U of A and asu and meant to have Herm at 8— Steve Malina (Get U of A to the best conference) (@BearDownSteven) July 29, 2022

Other college football coaches on the hot seat rankings:
CBS Sports' Dennis Dodd recently evaluated the job security of all 131 FBS coaches and Edwards was one of two coaches to receive a "5" rating, which is labeled as "win or be fired."
Fisch got a "1" rating, which was labeled "safe and secure."
USA TODAY Sports listed Edwards among 10 coaches on the hot seat for the upcoming season. Fisch was not on its list.
BetMGM included Edwards on its list of coaches who could be in trouble in 2022 (and did not include Fisch).
Bleacher Report also included Edwards in its early list of college football head coach hot seat predictions. It did not mention Fisch.
