Arkansas counties issue burn bans as dry, windy weather continues

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Several Arkansas counties have issued burn bans as relatively dry conditions continue across the state.

According to the Arkansas Forestry Commission, burn bans have been issued in the following counties:

  • Columbia County

  • Faulkner County

  • Madison County

  • Searcy County

  • Union County

  • Van Buren County

  • White County

Windy weather could also pose a threat in other areas of the state as well. High winds are expected through the first half of the week, which could cause a fire to quickly burn out of control.

A cold front will move through the state Tuesday night, bringing a very slight chance of light showers.
