FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas football is going to a bowl game for the second straight season, and the Razorbacks will learn their bowl destination Sunday.

The College Football Playoff selection committee announced its picks at 11 a.m. CT. With the four playoff spots locked in, the rest of the bowl games will make their picks.

Arkansas is one of 11 SEC teams eligible for a bowl and one of three that finished 6-6. Most projections after conference championships had Arkansas in a Tier 1 game, which includes the Liberty, Texas, ReliaQuest, Las Vegas, Gator and Music City bowls.

Official:: Arkansas to play Kansas in Liberty Bowl

The Razorbacks will play in their sixth AutoZone Liberty Bowl in Memphis, Tennessee on Dec. 28 (4:30 p.m. CT, ESPN). Kansas is the opponent out of the Big 12.

Arkansas (6-6) has played Kansas (6-6) just twice, the last time being in 1906. The Jayhawks have won both matchups.

Report: SEC bowl tie-ins 'shuffling'

The SEC's bowl tie-ins were experiencing some hang-ups Sunday afternoon, according to Action Network's Brett McMurphy.

McMurphy tweeted around 2 p.m. that the Gator Bowl and Holiday Bowl were in a "Battle Royale" to get Notre Dame to their game. The Gator Bowl is one of the SEC's Tier 1 bowls, pitting an SEC opponent against an ACC foe. Where the Irish go and which team they face would influence the other SEC/ACC bowls.

McMurphy added that there was "late shuffling" among bowl eligible Big 12 teams. There are two bowl games that feature SEC teams vs. Big 12 opponents: The Liberty Bowl and the Texas Bowl.

National projections: Arkansas to Liberty Bowl

Conference championship results will change some projections, but national experts seem to favor Arkansas going to the Liberty Bowl.

Brett McMurphy of Action Network reported Friday that Missouri, another 6-6 SEC team, is not interested in a potential Liberty Bowl matchup against Kansas. McMurphy updated his pre-conference title projections from having Arkansas vs. Oklahoma State in the Texas Bowl to the Razorbacks against the Jayhawks in the Liberty Bowl.
