Arkansas football schedule 2022: Game times, TV announced for first three games of season

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas football's 2022 schedule is starting to come into focus as game times for the first three games of the season were released Thursday.

Arkansas opens the season with three straight home games. The Razorbacks host Cincinnati on Sept. 3 for their first game, then South Carolina and Missouri State the next two Saturdays.

In addition to the early season game time announcements, CBS revealed Wednesday that Arkansas' regular-season finale at Missouri will be at 2:30 p.m. CT on Nov. 25 — the day after Thanksgiving.

Here's a look at the game times and TV schedule for Arkansas football's first three games.

Arkansas vs. Cincinnati

Date: Sept. 3

Time: 2:30 p.m. CT

TV: ESPN

What to know: Cincinnati is coming off a historic season in which it became the first Group of Five team to make the College Football Playoff. The Bearcats went undefeated in the 2021 regular season before losing to Alabama in the playoff. The 2022 season opener will be the first time Arkansas and Cincinnati play each other.

Arkansas vs. South Carolina

Date: Sept. 10

Time: 11 a.m. CT

TV: ESPN

What to know: The Razorbacks and Gamecocks are meeting for the first time since 2017, when Bret Bielema led Arkansas and Will Muschamp coached South Carolina. The Gamecocks won the last matchup 48-22 at home, their third straight win over Arkansas.

Arkansas vs. Missouri State

Date: Sept. 17

Time: 6 p.m. CT

TV: ESPN+/SECN+

What to know: Former Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino will return to Fayetteville for the first time since he was fired in the wake of an infamous motorcycle crash and resulting scandal. Petrino will be on the opposing sideline as coach of Missouri State, where he has worked since 2020.
