LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders will be joining a slate of 14 Republican governors in Texas on Sunday for a border security news conference.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is hosting the event at Shelby Park in Eagle Pass. The site has been in the news after Abbott ordered the Texas National Guard into the site to secure it, preventing Homeland Security from entering the area and removing razor-wire after a Supreme Court ruling.

Senate GOP battles over border bill tactics; Cruz calls moving forward ‘foolhardy’

In a social post last month, Sanders stated support for Abbot’s efforts at the southern border of his state, writing that “Arkansas stands with Texas” on a post sharing an release from the Lone Star governor about his state’s “constitutional right to self-defense.”

Days later, Sanders again weighed in on the border debate, suggesting that the current president should take up policies championed by his predecessor.

“We don’t need a ‘deal.’ We need a wall,” Sanders said in a social media post. “Biden already has the power to secure the border and refuses to use it. Reinstate the Remain in Mexico policy, build the wall, and enforce immigration laws already on the books.”
