Arkansas Governor Declares State of Emergency Amid Ice Storm

Thunder rumbled in central Arkansas on Tuesday, January 31, as an ice storm consisting of freezing rain, snow and sleet swept across the region, prompting Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders to issue a state of emergency.

This footage was captured by Chris Chambers, who said he recorded it in Cabot on Tuesday afternoon.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Forrest City Fire Department posted images of crashed semi-trucks and warned motorists that icy conditions on Interstate 40 and Highway 70 were presenting “extremely hazardous driving conditions."
