Arkansas State Police report 33-year-old man shot and killed in Scott County

WALDRON - A 33-year-old man was shot and killed south of Waldron Sunday night, the Arkansas State Police reported Monday.

A witness called to report a shooting about 8:45 p.m., and law officers found Eldder Santiago Bautista lying dead p.m. on the porch of a home on Rock Creek Road he had been visiting, state police reported. Bautista's body was taken to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory in Little Rock, police reported.

Luis Gabriel Olivares, 33, was later spotted carrying a rifle near the woods outside the home by a trooper. Olivares was arrested by a trooper who had responded to the call. Olivares had been staying at the residence where

Olivares was taken to the Scott County Jail where he was being questioned Monday afternoon. No charges had been filed Monday afternoon, authorities reported. The manner and cause of death will be determined at the state crime lab, state police reported.
