Arkansas women's basketball announces non-conference opponents on 2022-23 schedule

FAYETTEVILLE — More than three months ahead of the season, Arkansas women's basketball's 2022-23 schedule is taking shape. The Razorbacks announced their non-conference opponents for the upcoming season on Wednesday.

Arkansas is coming off an 18-14 season that ended in the first round of the NCAA Tournament with a loss to Utah. The Razorbacks return 10 players from last season's roster.

The 2022-23 non-conference schedule features two early season tournaments: the Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands and the San Diego Invitational. The schedule also includes four in-state opponents.

Arkansas women's basketball 2022-23 non-conference schedule

Nov. 7 — at UAPB: Arkansas opens the season on the road in Pine Bluff. The Razorbacks defeated the Golden Lions 96-53 at home last season.

Nov. 11 — vs. UCA: The Razorbacks' home opener will be against Central Arkansas. The Razorbacks won last season's matchup 82-44 on the road.

Nov. 14 — vs. Tulsa: Arkansas will meet a familiar face when it plays Tulsa. Coach Angie Nelp was a graduate assistant with the Razorbacks during the 2007-08 season. She led the Golden Hurricane to the second round of the WNIT last season.

Nov. 17 — vs. Kent State: The Razorbacks will play the Golden Flashes for the first time since 1993. Kent State went 19-12 last season with a second-round WNIT appearance.

Nov. 20 — at UALR: Arkansas will travel to Little Rock with a 4-0 record against the Trojans. The Razorbacks beat the in-state foe 73-39 last season.

Nov. 24 — vs. Northern Arizona (Paradise Jam): Arkansas opens the Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands against the Lumberjacks. It is the first meeting of the two teams.

Nov. 25 — vs. Clemson (Paradise Jam): The Razorbacks' first Power Five game of the season will be in the Virgin Islands. Arkansas will play the Tigers for the first time since 2007.

Nov. 26 — vs. Kansas State (Paradise Jam): Arkansas' trip to the Caribbean ends with a game against the Wildcats, whom the Razorbacks last played in 2019.

Dec. 1 — vs. Troy: Former Razorbacks star Chelsea Dungee will return to Bud Walton Arena, this time as an assistant coach with the Trojans. Arkansas has never played Troy.

Dec. 4 — vs. Oral Roberts: Arkansas hosts Division II foe Oral Roberts for the 33rd time. The Razorbacks last beat the Golden Eagles 96-49 in 2020.

Dec. 8 — vs. Lamar: Arkansas and Lamar last played in the 2011 WNIT. The Razorbacks won that matchup 91-65.

Dec. 11 — vs. Arkansas State: Arkansas' final in-state opponent is the Red Wolves, whom the Razorbacks beat 94-71 last season.

Dec. 17 — at Creighton: The Razorbacks will go on the road to avenge last season's 81-72 loss to the Blue Jays. Creighton made it to the NCAA Tournament Elite 8.

Dec. 20 — vs. Oregon (San Diego Invitational): Arkansas opens its second tournament against the Ducks. Oregon was a No. 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament but suffered a first-round upset.

Dec. 21 — vs. Ohio State or Virginia Tech (San Diego Invitational): The Razorbacks' trip to California will continue against either defending Big Ten champion Ohio State or NCAA Tournament five-seed Virginia Tech.
