ARLINGTON, VA — On Monday, Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam issued an executive he order requiring restaurants to remain open only for carryout, curbside and delivery. Restaurants can no longer keep their dining areas open, even if they adhere to the previously mandated 10-person mandate.

In order to comply with Northam's order, any Arlington eateries remain open only for delivery or carryout. In the meantime, health officials continue to inspect food service establishments across the county.

Officials from Arlington County Public Health recently inspected food preparation and storage businesses in Arlington County. During the last two weeks of inspections, officials found a total of 63 violations at 19 Arlington restaurants.

Violations noted below — such as the 9 at Epic Smokehouse in Arlington — involve those issues that would typically require a re-inspection if not corrected or those that are more likely than other violations to contribute to food contamination.

"In our experience, it is unrealistic to expect that a complex, full-service food operation can routinely avoid any violations," according to Virginia Department of Health's website.
