Armed Forces of Ukraine fight off offensives on two fronts General Staff report

On Saturday, Ukrainian armed forces fought off a Russian offensive on the Sloviansk and Bakhmut fronts.

Details: On the Sloviansk front, the Russians have been systematically conducting artillery shelling. The Ukrainians have successfully fought off an assault in the districts of Brazhkivka, Dolyna and Virnopillya. The occupiers retreated.

The Russians are trying to secure their positions in Bohorodychne using mortars, artillery and multiple launch rocket systems; the fighting continues. They are also actively using means of radio-electronic warfare.

On the Bakhmut front, the Russians have shelled Ukrainian positions near Mykolaivka, Bilohorivka, Hirske, Komyshuvakha and Novoluhanske with artillery. Using army aviation, they launched an airstrike near Pokrovske.

The Ukrainians successfully stopped a Russian offensive near Popasna. The occupiers had to retreat.

The Russians are advancing near Nyrkove; the fighting continues. On the Mykolaivka front, the Russian offensive has "died out"; the occupiers have retreated.

Near Berestove, the Russians attempted an assault but suffered losses and retreated to the positions taken earlier.

"Besides this, the occupiers have used fighting as a method to get some intel on weak spots in the Ukrainian defence and the artillery system near Volodymyrivka. They didn’t spare the personnel. Our defenders did everything right, the enemy suffered losses and retreated," states the report.

On the Sievierodonetsk front, the Russians have shelled civil infrastructure in the districts of Sievierodonetsk, Lysychansk, Metolkino, Ustynivka and Toshkivka.

The Ukrainians are successfully resisting Russian assaults in Sievierodonetsk. Some subdivisions are conducting an assault near Toshkivka; the fighting continues. Moreover, a Russian assault was successfully fought off near Metolkino. The occupiers retreated.

It is stated that they had to strengthen the grouping by using reserve subdivisions during the operation.

On the Lyman front, Russian subdivisions have not been active. On the Lysychansk front, the Russians have intensified the use of tubed and rocket artillery and are strengthening the armed forces groupings. They have shelled civil infrastructure near Serebrianka and Bilohorivka.

On the Avdiivka, Kurakhivske, Novopavlivske and Zaporizhzhia fronts there has been no active fighting. The occupiers have shelled civil infrastructure near New-York, Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka and Novoandriivka. They launched a strike with attack aviation near Marinka.

On the Pivdennyi Buh front, with the aim of containing the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the Russians shelled Ukrainian positions near Dobrianka, Velyka Kostromka, Murakhivka and Prybuzke. The Russians also tried to lead anti-artillery fighting.

The occupiers launched an airstrike using attack and army aviation near Snihurivka and Topolyne.

On the Volyn and Polissia fronts, inspection of the tactical efficiency of the Armed Forces of Belarus and the bringing of subdivisions to the highest degree of combat readiness are in motion. They are also working out practical measures for the admission of those liable for military service, and weapons and military equipment are being removed from storage.

On the Siversk front, the Russians continue to shell Ukrainian positions in frontline districts. On top of this, the occupiers are shelling objects of civil infrastructure in Myropilske in the Sumy oblast.

On the Kharkiv front, there have been no significant changes. The Russians have put most of their efforts into maintaining the previously taken positions. In order to limit the Ukrainian defence, they keep firing at the positions of Ukrainian subdivisions. Moreover, the occupiers have shelled civil infrastructure near Udy, Prudianka, Tsyrkuny and Verkhnii Saltiv, and launched an airstrike near Ternova and Rubizhne.

On the Bessarabskiy front there have been no significant changes.

The Russians continue to suffer big losses. In order to organise medical support for Russian groupings on the Slobozhanskii front, a field hospital is being established in Shebekino in the Belgorod oblast [in Russia] with the forces of the 442nd military clinical hospital from the city of Saint Petersburg.
