Armed suspect arrested following robbery at Circle K, authorities say

Officers arrested a man who they suspect of robbing a Circle K convenience store late Monday night in Orlando at gunpoint.

The arrested man refused to identify himself and is being charged with armed robbery and resisting an officer without violence, according to the Orlando Police Department.

Orlando police responded just after midnight to a call in reference to an armed robbery at the Circle K located on 1605 south Semoran Boulevard, according to OPD’s Lt. Charles Crosby.

The man reportedly entered the store and displayed a firearm to the store clerk and demanded money, Crosby said. The clerk backed from the till and the suspect came around the counter and removed the money himself.

He then ran from the store.

Officers spotted the suspect running south on Semoran and pursued him on foot, Crosby said. Officers were able to arrest him without additional incident and recovered his weapon on the 5800 block of Sundown Circle.
