Armed suspects rob Independent Bank on Union Avenue

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police are investigating a bank robbery at Independent Bank in the 1700 block of Union Avenue a little before 10:30 Friday morning.

Reports say two armed men gathered all of the employees into the teller area and held them at gunpoint. They took cash from the bank and fled the scene in a silver 2016 Nissan Maxima with temporary tags.

One suspect was wearing a purple hoodie with a gray hood, purple pants, and black shoes. He was armed with a black Draco-style firearm, police say.

The second suspect was wearing a black North Face jacket, gray sweatpants, and black and white shoes.

No arrests have been made. This is an ongoing investigation.
