Armie Hammer Snags Hancock Park Home for $4.715 Million

The 1920s residence spans 6,300 square feet across three floors

Armie Hammer and Elizabeth Chambers Hammer are said to be the new owners of a charming English Tudor home in L.A.’s upscale Hancock Park neighborhood. The home, originally built in the 1920s, has since been updated, though it still retains much of its original architectural details—namely, a brick-and-wood façade, built-in cabinets, and molded wood paneling in several of the rooms.

Set behind a row of privacy-ensuring trees and shrubbery, the home spans roughly 6,300 square feet across three floors, with four (possibly five) bedrooms and five-and-a-half bathrooms. The house opens onto a grand double-height entry flanked by a cavernous living room and a wood-paneled dining room.

The living room features floor-to-ceiling French windows along one entire wall, allowing in plentiful natural light, with two sets of French windows set into an adjoining wall. A double-sided fireplace anchors the space (the fireplace is shared with an office/library on the other side). Elsewhere on the ground floor is a sunroom-style family room surrounded by walls of windows, with a set of French doors that open out onto the flagstone-tiled back patio and beyond.

The kitchen, which is perfect for baked-goods entrepreneur Elizabeth, is situated around a large marble-topped work island, with white cabinetry and shelves revealing the home’s 1920s style. A dedicated breakfast room just off the kitchen features a wall of built-ins ideal for displaying family memorabilia, while a nearby laundry room and staff bedroom and bathroom round out what could be considered the home’s service quarters. The second floor boasts two en suite guest bedrooms, as well as a spacious master bedroom that features an entire wall of built-in shelves, its own wood-burning fireplace, a sitting area, and not one but two mirror-lined fitted walk-in closets.

As an added bonus, the master bathroom boasts a green-tiled Jacuzzi-style tub situated under a window overlooking the surrounding greenery. The finished third floor attic, with high ceilings and its own bathroom, is presently used as a multipurpose space. In back, the outdoor area includes a standalone wood-burning brick oven, a flagstone-covered patio for outdoor dining, and a lagoon-style swimming pool and spa. Sounds like a perfect retreat for the busy pair.
