Four people involved in Saturday robbery of armored vehicle outside Orland Park bar, police say

Orland Park police Cmdr. Ken Rosinski said Monday four people were involved in a robbery Saturday of a Brink’s armored car outside an Orland Park bar: three people who took part and the driver of a getaway car. Those involved have not yet been identified, he said.

At about 2 p.m. Saturday, the armored truck was robbed outside the Orland Ale House at 14225 95th Avenue in Orland Park, police said.

The Brink’s vehicle is being processed for evidence by police and the FBI, Rosinski said, so Brink’s officials haven’t had a chance to go through the vehicle’s logs to determine how much money was taken.

“We’re still trying to get a final count from Brink’s,” Rosinski said. “We’re still working the investigation with the FBI.”

In a statement, Brink’s officials said the employee driving the truck was not hurt but declined to share more information because the investigation is ongoing.

Police said Saturday the FBI was involved due to a possible connection to a string of similar offenses in the region.

The FBI Chicago bureau spokeswoman Natalie Symonds said Monday there were no new developments.
