UCF landed a commitment from speedy Seffner Armwood wide receiver Kason Stokes on Friday afternoon.

Stokes, a consensus three-star recruit, averaged 24.8 yards per reception with six touchdowns for the Hawks during his junior season. He also runs for the school's track team, recently posting personal-best times of 10.81 seconds in the 100-meter dash and 21.88 in the 200 at a Hillsborough County meet in Tampa.

"Honestly, it's just how the genuine the coaches were," Stokes said in a phone interview. "When I first talked to (Grant) Heard and (Gus) Malzahn, we hit it off immediately. They made it a priority to let me know they really wanted me. And with the new offensive coordinator (Darin Hinshaw) and system they're installing, it fits me perfectly as a deep threat."

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound Stokes is ranked 74th among wide receivers and 75th among Florida players in the 2024 class, per 247Sports' composite list. He joins Wekiva defensive lineman Sincere Edwards, Tallahassee Lincoln linebacker Sam Robinson and Bartram Trail quarterback Riley Trujillo among the Knights' commits for this recruiting cycle.

Stokes attended UCF's junior day event on Jan. 27 and returned March 30 for an unofficial visit. He also holds offers from Boston College, Maryland, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt and West Virginia, among other programs. His older brother, Kye Stokes, was a four-star safety recruit in the 2022 class who signed with Ohio State.

To this point, Stokes has not set a date for his official visit, but he plans on making regular trips to the Bounce House as UCF embarks on its first Big 12 football season this fall.

"I'm going to do my best to make as many games as possible. It's right up the road," Stokes said. "I think UCF definitely has potential (in the Big 12), and I want to be a part of that."
