Army National Guard begins probe of Hanover Area cyber attack

Mar. 9—A cyber security team from the Army National Guard on Monday began investigating a cyber attack on Hanover Area School District's computer system.

The team of three will complete their investigation at the end of the week, Superintendent Nathan Barrett said. The cyber attack did not penetrate or access financial and personnel information, and the primary problem was with internet operations, Barrett said.

Major Christine Pierce, a Hanover Area graduate, is the team leader. The team was running diagnostics and setting up on Monday, Barrett said.
