Around your town: Eastland County offering CodeRED emergency messaging

EASTLAND COUNTY — Eastland County announced in a recent news release that its residents may now register to receive notifications via CodeRED, which — in the event of an emergency — will inform subscribers via phone, email or text.

Such emergencies may include fires, floods, evacuations or chemical spills. Additionally, the service may be used to communicate non-life threatening issues such as road closures or utility outages.

County residents can register for the service for free at public.coderedweb.com/CNE/en-us/BF6181069B2C. The CodeRED Mobile Alert app, which issues notifications based on location, is also available for both Android and iPhone users.
